Ortho Imagery Profile

3001 IDS provides orthoimagery in support of the Global Geospatial Intelligence (GGI) contract for homeland defense. 3001 collects data using conventional film cameras, the latest digital camera technology, and laser mapping systems to produce 0.3 meter color orthoimagery of domestic cities. Deliverables include digital elevation models (DEMs), aerotriangulation (AT), rectified tiles, indices, FGDC-compliant metadata, and flight plans.

Orthoimagery Success

3001 has successfully delivered 9 "cities" of orthoimagery to include Riverside/ San Bernardino, San Diego, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Cincinnati, Memphis, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Jacksonville, and San Juan, Puerto Rico to NGA. The data ultimately resides at the EROS Data Center of the U.S. Geological Survey for use by the Department of Homeland Security and other federal, state, and local agencies.
